May update

Well I think it's going good... my right knee is feeling better and I don't gasp as much on the lung burning hills.  They added sand and gravel to lots of the red path, so that makes it more difficult, and I have to remember (which is hard at my age) where they added sand so I don't slide out!  I am officially at 286 kms.

Wes and I hit the trails in Calgary on mother's day what a treat to be on pavement!!!!!!!!!  Weather was awesome and saw some geese with the babies...  Other than getting scared sh^%less last week by a free dog not much else to report.

Won't get many miles on next week as I'm in Winnipeg and than when I return bike is going in for repairs.  Ask me why, brakes are rubbing, mirror is broken, handles grips are worn out, guard for the chain is broken and the fenders rattle so loud not sure I need my bike bell to warn people on the trail that I'm coming!    Bike Brothers here in Cochrane will have it like new I'm sure....  and with Wes's lime green paint job it will be like a new bike.
I'll post a picture when it's all shinny and clean.

Thanks to those who have donated, and promised money it was nice to see the red line go up to my goal on the money raised as well.

In my dream world I am past Hanna and in Youngston  and am 80 Kms away from the Saskatchewan border....  It's flat enough I can see it....

Have an awesome day.

Peace... Theresa

oops

Already made a mistake... I'm sure there will be many more!... I posted the first post in April not May, but I had a glitch and life happens.

I am now up to 160kms. so made my first goal of reaching 100kms  in April as I knew the weather would be iffy.       YIPPIE! 10% done

My legs are getting stronger, but for some reason this year, the gravel on the trails seems tougher to travel through and I'm sure the hills got steeper.... A Kid about age 10 yesterday raced me up the hill to the skateboard park, we had a nice recovery time together at the top, he beat me by a tire!     BUT I enjoyed huffing, puffing and chatting with him at the top.

Hopefully will figure out how to put up some pictures, as I go along.

Will post about once a week for those who asked me to do a blog!...

Take care....

starting my journey

I have decided to cycle 1500 kms, over the summer to bring awareness to end MS campaign and hopefully raise a bit of cash for them.   I am excited and nervous to begin this..  I found out about this campaign last year in Nova Scotia when I was out there to celebrate my neice's wedding, found a magnet on a car and that lead to this adventure.

It's like going from Cochrane to the other side of Winnipeg via the Yellowhead route.. so to keep myself motivated I will track my distance and pretend I am visting and revisiting all these lovely spots on the way, here's hoping there are many coffee spots and twice as many toilets on the way!

I won't be doing much this week, as last night we got 25cm of snow!  Oh how I love the Alberta weather.
